The Palestine Exchange (PEX) closed on Thursday at 505.69 points, gaining 0.02 point after successive declines since the beginning of this week. The general index rose by 0.10% or 0.02 point to 268.42 points.
Trading volume reached 138 THD shares, at a turnover of $225.6 THD, traded through 90 transactions on 16 companies, of which seven gained, six dropped and three remained unchanged.
The top three gainers were: Ahleia Insurance Group by 8.33%, Wataniya Palestine Mobile Telecommunications by 2.67%, and Union Construction and Investment by 2.5%. The top three decliners were: Global Com Telecommunication Plc by 10%, the Arab Hotels Co by 4.11%, and Palestine Commercial Bank by 3.95%.
The top active companies were Arab Palestinian Investment Co, followed by Palestine Islamic Bank and then Arab Hotels Co with a trading volume reaching 34.3 THD, 20.4 THD, and 15 THD shares respectively.
Meanwhile, the top value leaders were Palestine Telecommunications, Arab Palestinian Investment Co, and Bank of Palestine, upon generating $53.4 THD, $37 THD, and $31.2 THD respectively.
On the sectors level, the insurance, the services and the industrial indices inched up 0.39%, 0.32% and 0.05% respectively, whereas the banks and the investment indices dropped by 0.44% and 0.17% respectively.
